Beringea venture capital team welcomes two new companies into media portfolio family

Farmington Hills, Mich.--Beringea's venture capital team, comprised of investment professionals in Los Angeles, London and Detroit, has announced two new media investments.  The Beringea team:

--Led a $4.5 million investment round in Harmony Media Group, the parent company of Filmnight Digital and Saffron Digital. The company develops market-leading digital products and services across mobile and online platforms.  Filmnight Digital has forged commercial relationships with international film studios to provide clients with a ‘one-stop-shop’ for film-related content and services.  Saffron Digital has developed a converged content delivery platform that enables content owners, brand owners and mobile operators to deliver a rich experience for their consumers across mobile and web.  The state-of-the art platform includes market leading video services, such as a video on demand, which allow consumers to access video files via mobile and online portals.

--Provided a round of expansion capital funding to digital marketing agency Steak Media. Steak Media develops search, affiliate marketing, display advertising, and other innovative digital strategies to enhance clients’ marketing communications. It has attracted attention in the digital marketing space by achieving a high level of growth and impressive market share in its first two years of business, including a 392% increase from 2006 to 2007.

Other recent media investments include:

--Backing the management buyout of leading independent producer and publisher of music programming, Eagle Rock Group, from HgCapital.  Eagle Rock is a producer, publisher and worldwide distributor of music programming and documentaries for TV and DVD. Key catalog properties include live concert performances from The Bee Gees, Janet Jackson, The Who and Eric Clapton and the 'Classic Album' series including releases from Pink Floyd, Nirvana and Queen.

--Funding an expansion capital round in
growing online lead generation company Dianomi. Dianomi provides contextual lead generation services for over 120 different clients in the financial services, property and travel sectors via its pay-per-lead services.

--Investing $1.1 million in the public offering of intellectual property rights exploitation specialists Coolabi.
