Beringea U.S. leads online wedding retailer Brideside’s $7m Series A round

Chicago-based Brideside is the leading online wedding retailer and is positioned to triple growth following aggressive two-year expansion strategy

Farmington Hills, Mich.—Beringea U.S., a transatlantic venture capital investor seeking to create lasting success for rapidly scaling entrepreneurial companies, has led a $7 million Series A investment in Chicago-based Brideside, the leading omnichannel destination for concierge bridal and bridesmaid shopping. The newly invested capital will support the company’s robust 2020 showroom expansion, enhance customer-facing shopping technology and launch Brideside Bridal, an entry into the bridal gown business.

Brideside launched in Chicago in 2014 as a direct-to-consumer site aiming to simplify and personalize the frustrating bridesmaid dress shopping process. It has quickly risen as one of the most innovative retailers recognized for its seamless technology integrating digital styling tools and group digital interface for managing bridal party members, dress options and transaction status. In mid-2017, founders Nicole Staple and Sonali Lamba saw the opportunity to enhance their core digital business with the introduction of physical showrooms, following a successful 18-month pop-up partnership with Lord & Taylor.  Since then, the brand has opened seven showrooms across four cities and plans to enter two to three more markets by the end of 2020.
